What's This Blog All About?

This blog is simply my place to put down some thoughts when I get inspired to do so.

I have no desire really for recognition or to gain followers, solicit comments, etc. It's just a place to rant or share things I think are interesting. Read if you want and comment if you wish. Just don't expect a response. I don't get triggered or trolled easily so don't waste my time.

Don't expect posts with any frequency. I seem to post in fits and spurts then lose interest for a while.

About Me:

I'm somewhere between college and retirement age, that's all I'll say. Male, straight, and White without guilt or shame for how I was born.

I consider myself a "secular conservatarian" for lack of a more precise term. I hate to be pigeonholed or pinned down by ideology on any particular issue and reserve the right to an opinion that runs contrary to the popular media crafted one on any given topic.

For the record, I voted for Trump. Mainly because the alternative was unthinkable and sitting it out was not an option for me. Also, voting 3rd party was out as it would basically have been a vote for Hillary (yes, that's how I see it). Issues like SCOTUS appointments and preserving the constitution were paramount in my decision.

I'm not "On The Trump Train" but I do want him to succeed, as all patriotic American's should. Why would you wish for our President to fail? When he fucks up, as all Presidents will on occasion, I won't make lame excuses for him.

I don't subscribe to any religion. I once described myself as an Atheist, but after more consideration, I'd say I'm Agnostic. I don't believe in a traditional God figure or non-evolution based creation story.

I believe we are the present state of an ongoing and almost infinitely complex series of random events. Basically, a pair of trillion-sided dice was rolled and our number came up. As to who or what rolled the dice in the beginning, I have no idea, or even if we're capable of ever knowing.

I do however think there is something "special" about us humans, for lack of a better term. Something that will live on in some form or another beyond our mortal bodies. No Heaven or Hell awaits, just the unknown.
